What is a GFT
A GFT is a phygital NFT: a digital token, recorded on-chain, that is bound one-to-one to a specific physical product. Owning the product means owning its digital twin, and the token serves as portable proof of authenticity and ownership.
Anatomy of a GFT
Each physical product ships with the things that connect it to its on-chain twin: a designed TwinCode mark and an NFC card that also carries a CP (Creative Power) score.
What makes it trustworthy
- 1:1 linkage — each physical item is matched to exactly one GFT.
- Ownership on-chain — who owns the item is recorded on-chain and proven by the owner's wallet.
- Two ways to reach it — scan the TwinCode or tap the NFC card with the TwinMeta app to look up the item's GFT.
Looking up vs. authenticating
It helps to separate two things you can do with a GFT:
| Action | What it does | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Look up | Open the item's GFT page to view it and check it is genuine | Scan the TwinCode or tap the NFC card — no login required |
| Authenticate ownership | Prove you own this specific item | The TwinMeta app, the physical NFC card, and your wallet |
Ownership authentication has its own requirements — see Ownership & Authentication.
What you can do with it
- Look up and confirm your item is genuine at any time.
- Authenticate that you own a specific item.
- Transfer the item together with its digital twin (see Buying & Ownership).
