TwinCode & the App
A TwinCode is a visual code on a TwinMeta product — designed artwork rather than a plain QR code. Scanning it with the TwinMeta app opens the product's GFT page, where you can view the item and confirm it is genuine.
Why a designed code
- Carries aesthetic value instead of a plain black-and-white QR.
- Doubles as a brand mark.
- Links the physical item to its on-chain twin.
The TwinMeta app
The app is the mobile gateway to the physical–digital connection. It has four tabs:
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Home | Browse the service — projects, Early Bird, featured TwinKers — without signing in. |
| NFC | Tap an item's NFC card to authenticate ownership or cheer its creator. |
| Scan | Point the camera at a TwinCode to open the item's GFT page. |
| Purchases | Jump to your order history. |
Three ways content opens
Different actions open in the way that fits them best — browsing, scanning, and buying are handled differently:
- Browsing content (home, project lists, info pages) happens inside the app, with no login required.
- Scanning a TwinCode or tapping an NFC card opens a secure browser tab, which keeps you signed in for actions like authentication.
- Buying or taking part hands off to your device's main browser.
Scanning a TwinCode
Scanning a TwinCode each day can earn a small amount of TwinPoint (once per day), with a one-time bonus the first time you scan. The GFT page always opens whether or not points apply. See TwinPoint & Rewards.
note
The recognition technology behind scanning is provided externally and is out of scope for this public documentation.
